Dear Watermark Church family,

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30

To follow Christ means choosing to put Christ first in every area of your life. After all, He loved us to the point of dying on the cross. Now our response to Him is to give Him our love and devotion. One important way to put Christ first in your life is to put Christ first in your finances.

Our personal finances are an area we are tempted to keep from God. Knowing this, God instructed His people to bring their tithes to the Lord as a habit for their heart!

Be sure to set aside a tenth (tithe) of all that your fields produce each year. Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God always…Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice.” Deuteronomy 14:22-27

As stewards of God’s resources, there are many reasons why giving God our tithes through the local church is relevant and important for us to do today. Here are a few reasons to bring our tithes to God regularly:

1. It helps you remember to honor God and put Him first in your life.

2. You are helping to advance the work of the Kingdom in your community and world.

3. You will experience God’s faithful provision of your needs as you are faithful to Him.

4. God will continue to provide you with resources to be able to bless others!

Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we look at what the Bible has to say about how tithing is a great habit for your heart!
