Dear Watermark Church family,

Here are some encouraging quotes about being born again through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for forgiveness of our sins.

"As is true of man who is born naturally and receives a human nature from his parents, so man born anew receives a new nature, a new capacity for service and devotion to God." John F. Walvoord

"Eternal life is not a peculiar feeling inside! It is not your ultimate destination, to which you will go when you are dead. If you are born again, eternal life is that quality of life that you possess right now." Major Ian Thomas

"One single soul saved shall outlive and outweigh all the kingdoms of the world." J.C. Ryle

"When I was born again, I received the very life of the risen Lord from Jesus Himself." Oswald Chambers

"The one who is truly born again will love the Word of God." R.A. Torrey

"The born-again Christian sees life not as a blurred, confused, meaningless mass, but as something planned and purposeful." Billy Graham

"The gospel of Jesus to me is simply irresistible." Blaise Pascal

"God makes greater haste to the sinner than the sinner does to God. God makes much of our first inclination." Author Unknown

At Watermark Church, our mission is to help lead you into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Join us this Sunday, 12/16, as we look at Philippians chapter 4, and discover how our relationship with God can turn our anxiety in life into His peace!

With Christmas Eve right around the corner, here is a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends to church and ask for your help and prayers for this special event!

On Monday, December 24th, our church is hosting a Christmas Eve Celebration at 6:00 PM at Watermark Church. The event is casual and is obviously geared to everyone, including those who have never been to church.

It will be an evening of singing traditional Christmas carols, drinking hot apple cider, eating Christmas treats, and enjoying a story or two. This will be a perfect time to bring back memories of Christmases past or establish a new understanding of Christmas!

We will start around 5:45pm on December 24 with some hot apple cider, coffee and cookies. Then at 6:00pm, we will be led in Christmas songs. We will then have a brief explanation of why Christmas is important, as we focus on the purpose for Christ’s birth.

The evening will end with carols by candlelight, and everyone will be on their way by 6:45pm.

Here’s how you can help:

1) We are looking for a few volunteers to help with the setup and greeting on Christmas Eve. We will have a brief meeting this coming Sunday, 12/16, after the morning worship service at the front of the church to assign a few positions – please join us after church on Sunday if you would like to help.

2) Please bring a plate of your favorite pastries or dessert to share on Christmas Eve! We need volunteers to bring warm cider as well.

3) Also, please join us in prayer each day, that God will stir the hearts of our friends and relatives, or those in the area with no church home, or those who are visiting from out of town, to come to this Christmas Eve event.

- Pray that those who attend will sense the presence of God and that they will understand God’s gift of grace found in Jesus Christ.

- Pray that newcomers will return in weeks to come to grow in their knowledge of God and His Word.

Thank you for praying with us for this opportunity to bless our community with the love of God and message of the gospel of Christ. We hope to see you at 5:45pm on December 24 at Watermark Church!
