Dear Watermark Church family,
“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6
An amazing truth in life is this - we reap what we sow! What a remarkable principle to help you determine your “return on life.” Instead of holding on to all God’s blessings, Jesus invites us to invest all God has blessed us with in our lives for the sake of the Kingdom, to get the most return on the one life we have.
What we receive in life is greatly determined by what we give in life. What we do with what God gives us determines how much He channels through our lives!
“Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”Luke 6:38
Your standard in giving is God’s standard toward you. Treat others as you would have them treat you! Give what you have and give according to the personality and gifts God gave you. He will channel more!
Occasionally, it is good to take a personal inventory of what we are sowing in our lives. Surprisingly, the principle of reaping what we sow applies to many areas of our lives.
My thoughts - Am I sowing truth in my mind? Or do I focus on a mental narrative that is negative and destructive – “I am guilty.” “I am worthless.” “I am undesirable, untalented, unwanted…”
My faith - Am I taking assignments from God that are bigger than me; am I trusting God for all my needs; am I reaching out to those around me who do not know Christ?
My relationships - Am I self-centered or loving others like Christ?
My response to God’s Word - Do I simply talk the talk, or do I actually walk the walk?
My finances, talents, time - Do I grip these God-given personal resources too tightly or do I sow them abundantly for His cause? You cannot out give God!
My response to the Holy Spirit - Do I sow resistance to the Holy Spirit, or is my heart soft and yielded to His promptings?
Join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM at Watermark Church as we look at this amazing stewardship principle of reaping what we sow!
