Dear Watermark Church family,

“Honor your father…” Ephesians 6:2

Sunday, June 16, is Father's Day. Here are some quotes compiled by John Hopler to inspire us to honor the noble role of fathers in advancing God's kingdom.

“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” Billy Graham

“I was raised in the greatest of homes…just a really great dad, and I miss him so much…he was a good man, a real simple man…Very faithful, always loved my mom, always provided for the kids, and just a lot of fun.” Max Lucado

“What a boy can use, and too often doesn't have, are the heart of his father and the fellowship of men. A boy needs at least one man who pays attention to him, spends time with him, and admires him. A boy needs a role model, a man whom he can regard as a mentor.” Dennis Rainey

“The really great man is the man who makes every man feel great.” G. K. Chesterton

“One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters.” George Herbert

“I believe the family was established long before the church, and my duty is to my family first. I am not to neglect my family.” D. L. Moody

“A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.” Unknown

“All great change in America begins at the dinner table.” Ronald Reagan

“If you want to lead a balanced life, decide how many hours you want to work and stick to your guns. Put work appointments on your calendar in pencil, but put your family commitments in pen. Love is time, and time is love.” Patrick Morley

“I like to compare the job of a father to that of a long-distance runner. Fathering is a marathon—a long and often trying journey-and we must be disciplined if we hope to finish successfully.” Ken R. Canfield

Join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM at Watermark Church, as we discuss aspects of being a good father.
